The artist behind J No.5
Meet Jody Parker, the Owner and Founder of J No.5 Hair Studio. Behind the precision cuts and personal care is a name that honors her late brother, Chad Parker.

The meaning behind the name
The 5 in J No.5 honors Jody’s late brother, Chad Parker. He had a special connection to the number, and she carries his memory in the studio’s name.
It is a personal tribute to Chad at the heart of J No.5 Hair Studio, here in Meyerland, Houston.

Years ago, before J No.5 Hair Studio had a name, our family was already living the values that would shape it. My brother cut hair in the garage while I styled it in the kitchen, and every weekend, Mama’s house was filled with neighborhood kids, friends, classmates, and even teachers. We charged $10 for cuts and $20–$25 for styles, using what we earned to help Mama pay the light and water bills. In return, she made sure everyone felt welcome with snacks, popsicles, drinks, and candy.
What began as a family hustle became the foundation of J No.5 Hair Studio: serving others with purpose, creating with passion, and persevering together. That spirit remains at the heart of our legacy today. ❤️
Jody Parker • Owner & founder
Jody has been in the beauty business for more than 25 years, with a particular focus on short pixie styles, edgy haircuts, natural silk press and graduated bobs.
Her work has been featured in music videos, including with Solange Knowles, as well as editorial, Academy print, short movies, and local publications such as the Houston Chronicle, to name a few.
That range is reflected in the portfolio: precise cropped shapes, sculpted waves, soft movement and creative styling beyond the salon chair. It is a body of work built around shape, expression and the attention a finished look deserves.
At J No.5, hair care is part of the conversation. The studio’s stated philosophy centers on integrity, value and a commitment to healthy hair care. A style should express who you are, with a considered approach to the appointment that brings it to life.
Today, the studio’s public location is Meyerland Plaza in Houston. Explore the service collection to find your direction, or call before booking if you are deciding between options.

The studio philosophy
Your appointment is more than a menu label. The style you want, your current hair and the services you choose all belong in the same conversation. If a new shape, chemical service or color change raises questions, talk with the studio before selecting your booking.
Our service pages are here to make that choice clearer. They explain the differences between individual haircuts, finished styling, chemical services and add ons without promising the same outcome for every client.
